Besov Spaces and Frames on Compact Manifolds
We show that one can characterize the Besov spaces on a smooth compact oriented Riemannian manifold, for the full range of indices, through a knowledge of the size of frame coefficients, using the smooth, nearly tight frames we have constructed in [8].
متن کاملWavelet Statistical Models and Besov Spaces
We discover a new relationship between two seemingly diierent image modeling methodologies; the Besov space theory and the wavelet-domain statistical image models. Besov spaces characterize the set of real-world images through a deterministic characterization of the image smoothness, while statistical image models capture the probabilistic properties of images. By establishing a relationship be...
متن کاملNonstational Dual Wavelet Frames in Sobolev Spaces
In view of the good properties of nonstationary wavelet frames and the better flexibility of wavelets in Sobolev spaces, the nonstationary dual wavelet frames in a pair of dual Sobolev spaces are studied in this paper. We mainly give the oblique extension principle and the mixed extension principle for nonstationary dual wavelet frames in a pair of dual Sobolev spaces H(R) and H−s(Rd). Keywords...

متن کاملTwo-Level-Split Decomposition of Anisotropic Besov Spaces
Anisotropic Besov spaces (B-spaces) are developed based on anisotropic multilevel ellipsoid covers (dilations) of R. This extends earlier results on anisotropic Besov spaces. Furthermore, sequences of anisotropic bases are constructed and utilized for two-level-split decompositions of the B-spaces and nonlinear m-term approximation.
